#2 – Foundation: Obedience Builds Strength

January 10, 2026 Admin SaturDay Recap

This week built naturally on where we started. Once you begin to notice God speaking, the next quiet step is deciding what to do with what you hear. That’s where #2 – Foundation: Obedience Builds Strength took us.

Across the week, we kept coming back to the idea that obedience isn’t about perfection or rule-keeping — it’s about direction. In Deuteronomy, we saw how God’s words were meant to be carried close, not kept at a distance. Joshua reminded us that courage and strength weren’t tied to confidence in self, but to staying anchored to what God had already said. Psalm 1 painted that steady picture of a life rooted and growing over time, not rushed or forced.

We also spent time in John, where Jesus connects love and obedience in a way that feels relational, not heavy. And James brought it home by reminding us that hearing alone doesn’t shape us — it’s the quiet follow-through that does. That idea landed differently when talked through together, as a dad and a son, in real time.

What stood out most this week was how obedience builds strength slowly. Not loud strength. Not instant results. But the kind that holds when things get uncomfortable or unclear. This episode captures that rhythm — learning that doing the next right thing, even in small ways, is often how trust grows muscles we don’t see right away.
